It is not a good day for Hikari Seiryuu and her family, or their friend and appointed guardian, the elf Kathryn Greenbridge. Someone is after something that has to do with the family and Kate's past, and they'll stop at nothing to find what they're looking for.
As Hikari is chased by goblins and a homicidal shape shifter, Kate rushes to try and help her student and friend; and as those factions struggle, a new unexpected player stumbles onto the scene. The lone traveler known only as "Nina" has stepped into a situation more connected with her own past than she suspects. She travels to help those in need, and intends to help Kathryn and Hikari. However, if Nina's secret is revealed, her attempt to help may bring out the most powerful foe any of them have ever faced.
